Lino Prints

We had to make a lino cut to make prints from. My mark was a 7.

This is my lino cut:

You had to first draw on a paper and then on the lino. Then you had to cut it out with a couple of knifes with which you had to be careful because you could cut yourselve quite easy. (It happened to me 3 times)  :(

This are my 6 prints:

# 1:

#2:
#3:
#4:
#5:
#6:
I'm quite happy with my mark because I found it hard to make.

Square about your selve

We had to make a square where you could see things about yourselve.

This is my square:

My mark was an 8. You can see my room at the bottom with a picture about my selve in it. Furhter you see a piano because I play the piano and my bag next to it. Then you see my name which is a drawing we made last year with a banana next to it because I lika bananas.

Poster

We had to make a poster for a imagined company.

 This is my poster :

My mark was a 7. I think it's a quite good mark for me. I think I could maybe make the colours brighter but there wasn't enough time.

Painting a landscape.

We had to make a landscape for art. This was my landscape. It had to be a desert but the colours went a bit wrong. I got a 6.8 for it and I think I could do better, but it is sufficient so I happy. I mostly like the cactus in the front.

Colour wheel & Johannes Itten

My painting:
We had to make a painting for Art Education of the colour wheel of Johannes Itten. this is mine. I've got a 6.0 for it and I am pretty happy with it but I think I could do better than this, because there is everywere paint were it doesn't have to be and you can't even see that there are flowers on it, but a 6.0 is sufficient so I am happy.

Biography Johannes Itten:
Johannes Itten on 11 November 1888 in Südern-Linden Switzerland. He was a son of a teacher and he also became teacher. He first only teached primary school and later also secondary school. In1913 he trained to become a painter. He moved in 1916 to Vienna. He teached in Weimar between 1919 and 1923. In 1926 he founded an art school in Berlin to train photographers, printmakers. painters and architects. In 1932 he was still teaching at the private school. In 1938 he became the director of the Museum of Arts and Crafts in the place Zurich and of the school with it. Til 1955 Johannes had no time to paint because he worked extremely hard. In 1966 he recived the "Netherlands Sikkens Art Prize." Johannes Itten died on 25 March 1967.

This is Johannes Itten.

Johannes Itten's colour theory:
Artists and designers use colour theory to know the effects of mixing colours. Isaac Newton is the developper of colour theory. Swiss artist Johannes Itten based his colour theory on the work of Newton and others. Artists and designers continue to refer to and use his work also today.

                                                 Itten's colour wheel.

Colour mixing:
In the colour wheel you see the colours to mix. You have the primary colours in the middle. The primary colours are:red, blue and yellow. When you mix the primary colours you get secondary colours and that are: orange, green and purple.
You also have the complementary colours. Complementary colours are opposit of each other on the colour wheel. Such colours are for example: red-green
                                                       yellow-purple
                                                       blue-orange

Banknote

Hello,
We had to make a banknote for Art. You had to put as much patterns in it as possible.
I made a dollar banknote with my own head on it. Here you can see my banknote:
this is the front of my banknote                                         this is the back of my banknote

My mark was a 7.0 and I can understand why it is not that high because I didn't had much patterns
